Pennies from Heaven

I am actually writing today about something that personally connects me to my higher spirit. When a coin reveals itself to me, it makes my day every single time I find a coin on the ground in my travels.

Money is a daily struggle for me, from having everything I ever wanted and losing it all from a messy divorce, irresponsibly pissing away my inheritance, job loss, horrible money management. I could spend tons of time psycho-analyzing my behavior, however, the past is the past.

I was able to pay my rent and bills until a relapse in personal money management, sure I was able to supplement my income from divorce settlement and a family inheritance, but that disappeared as mentioned above (NOT going there again).

Let me elaborate on how finding a coin on the ground lights me up. When I feel lost and hopeless, a shiny penny, nickel, dime, quarter, or when lucky, a whole paper dollar all balled up (that has happened twice in 2 years). I truly believe God is looking out for me. I feel hope, believe everything will be OK. No need to analyze it, obsess about it, why or how, just accept it as a gift from some higher spirit that believes in me.

In 2020, I decided to put the coins in a mason jar and see what happens. I love this especially on my runs. Backing up, I am an avid runner, fitness enthusiast and most recently yoga instructor (but, I have always been a deep thinker and dreamer).

Now, I would like to think that I am not actually scouring the streets for coins because my goal is to enjoy the scenery and not fall flat on my face! I figured, I would start a jar and notate the date and location where the coin appeared. Well, that is a really cool idea, it lacked consistency.

With that said, I now have 2 mason jars with my findings for 2020 and so far for 2021.

It doesn’t matter if it is a penny, nickel, dime, quarter, or sometimes a balled up dollar bill, I thank my higher spirit, take a deep breath in and smile that God is always looking out for me, I feel hope, not as hopeless.

I am delighted to share my deep thinking and hope that you find hope today through the little things that light you up!
