Mala Beads

Malas - Introduction

To meditate and reflect with stillness, peace and grounding. Practice using malas and notice what speaks to you. Inhale on one bead, exhale out with the next (or one twist inward, inhale and one twist out, exhale).

A mantra such as, “Om”- for example, slowly and vocally repeated 3 times- represents the past, present and future peace. Wear them as you wish as a reminder of your intentions.

There is no limit to how long you meditate. Its typically with your eyes closed, so unless you can feel the difference of the colored stones, it’s not necessary to note which one you’re touching unless you prefer to.

It takes about 20-minutes to meditate a full strand of malas by touching one after the other for each breath. There is no rush. It is a deeply personal practice.

Bring awareness back to your body. Notice that you feel settled and present. If you don’t have a lot of time, count every 3rd bead and run through the breath cycle. Or every 5th bead. These are just suggestions - your mala-your-practice. -Namaste
